Sanath Jayasuriya is to Sri Lanka, what Sachin Tendulkar is to India. Both are short but powerful when it comes to their batting. At the moment, he stands as the third highest run-scorer in the one-day game, behind Sachin and Ricky Ponting. An aggregate of 12,740 runs in 388 matches at a strike rate of 92.4 shows that age cannot be detrimental to consistency as he played in the same vein for most of his career. He also made 28 centuries and a whopping 66 half centuries for these runs.
