The spell of the World Cup 2015 was bowled by Mitchell Starc against New Zealand in a match that can be termed one the best in cricket World Cup.

Australia had scored 151 batting first and Starc almost single handedly won a closely fought match for Australia. After McCullum had made 50 in a whirlwind fashion, Starc picked up wickets in form of Taylor, Elliot, Guptill, Ronchi and Southee in an attempt to win the match. The only wicket he couldn’t get was Kane Williamson’s, who took New Zealand to the win in the 23rd over with a six after Starc had dismissed no. 9 and no.10 in the previous over and almost had the no.11. Mitchell Starc took his career best 6/28 but all in vain as Australia lost the match by 1 wicket.
