1. George Bailey is the great-great-great grandson of George Herbert Bailey who was also a cricketer and the member of the Australian squad that toured England in 1878.

4. Bailey’s captaincy skills in the domestic level landed him as a captain of the Australian team in his debut T20I match. He is the second Australian after Dave Gregory who captained his first ever Test match, to do so.

5. The right-handed smasher is the only player who has played his only World Cup match as a captain. He replaced Michael Clarke who was suffering from an injury as the captain in the World Cup 2015 match against England, and was dropped from the team for rest of the tournament.
6. Though, Bailey’s Test figures don’t have much to flaunt about, his 28 runs of James Anderson’s over in the Ashes 2013 at Perth was a show to watch. His 28 off an over is highest runs ever made in a Test over.
7. In the year 2013, he delivered an extraordinary performance in the ODI series against India where he marauded 487 runs at an average of 95.
8. Bailey became world’s no.2 batsman in the ICC rankings after a successful ODI series against India.
9. George Bailey plays an important part in the T20 leagues. He is a part of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier league and Hobart Hurricanes’ squad in the Big Bash League. Prior to Kings XI, he was a part of the famous Chennai Super Kings. In the IPL seasons of 2014 and 2015 he was assigned the captain’s role for Kings XI.
