Australian swashbuckling batsman Aaron Finch is one of the big names that Kings XI Punjab possesses in its armory. The 31-year-old Victorian, however, have failed to fire in the first half of the ongoing IPL season but is certainly looking to amends in the second half of the tournament.

Finch had to miss out on the first game in IPL for his franchise as he was busy with his marriage at that time. But it looks like the marriage didn’t seem to have worked wonders for the man who could potentially be Australia’s next limited overs skipper. Finch playing in the middle order of the KXIP line-up bagged two ducks in his first two games.

Speaking to TOI about his plans for the business end of the tournament, Aaron Finch said, “Obviously, it’s been a disappointing start for me as I haven’t really contributed but the real positive for us as a team has been that we have won matches and are in a good position currently. A couple of us haven’t been scoring heavily but we do have a chance to make an impact at the backend of the tournament and help the KXIP win the title. We have been practising hard and been having extra sessions to ensure we are up for the battle in front of us. T20 is a hard game and we still have got a chance to contribute and have a great second half of the tournament

Finch is the first player to play for seven different IPL franchises

With this new deal, Finch became the first player in IPL history to play for seven different franchises. The explosive batsman started his IPL journey with Rajasthan Royals in the 2010 edition of the IPL where he played only one match before moving to Delhi Daredevils for the next two seasons.

He played the previous edition for now-discarded Gujarat Lions franchise. However, the right-hander failed to live up to his lofty standards scoring 300 runs from 13 matches. Aaron Finch has been in scintillating form for his national outfit and will be keen to find his mojo back for the IPL franchise for the remained of the tournament.
