10 cricketers who might retire from Tests in 2023
Certain top-drawer players who have lighted the international arena with their spectacular performances might retire from Test cricket in 2023.
2. David Warner
David Warner is a giant of player in world cricket. He has dismantled bowling attacks for fun with his marauding bat and made the international arena his happy hunting ground. The veteran batter has featured in 141 ODIs and aggregated 6007 runs at a strike rate of 95.25.
Warner has been brilliant in Test cricket as well and plundered 8132 runs in 101 matches at an average of 46.20. In Australia’s previous Test series, which was against South Africa, the southpaw put on an exhibition of his swashbuckling stroke play and smashed a blistering double century in the second game.
Warner is at the fag end of his career and has already hinted at retirement from the longest format. In November 2022, the opening batter said on Triple M's Deadset Legends that it could be his last 12 months in Test cricket. Therefore, David’s Test retirement in 2023 is on the cards.
