Rajasthan Royals had a memorable campaign during the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. They meant business from the very first game and finished second at the end of the group stage with nine wins in 14 games. Sanju Samson & co. conquered Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second qualifier to reach the Final but failed to recreate history as they lost the summit clash to Gujarat Titans.

Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal led Rajasthan’s charge in the 2022 season and were the winners of the Orange Cap and Purple Cap respectively. The think tank had done a pretty good job at the mega auction 2022 to assemble a quality squad and it clearly paid dividends.

However, certain personnel inclusions did not prove to be as fruitful as the management would have liked them to be. Hence, we might witness Rajasthan tinker with their unit a bit and release certain players ahead of the forthcoming auction.

Let us look at the players Rajasthan Royals might release ahead of the auction:

5. Anunay Singh

Anunay Singh is one of the promising fast bowlers in Bihar's domestic cricket circuit. He made his List A debut in 2018 and has delivered some match-winning performances for his state. He has featured in eight List A games and taken ten wickets at an impressive economy of 3.47.

RR drafted the Vaishali-born for the 2022 season to provide a cushion to their pace arsenal. It was a huge opportunity for Anunay to make a name for himself in the biggest T20 league in the world. However, in presence of top-quality seamers in the squad, he was not able to break into the playing XI.

Rajasthan’s Indian fast-bowling stock had Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini, and Kuldeep Sen. Prasidh and Saini brought in a wealth of experience whereas Kuldeep added another dimension to the attack with his whizzing pace.

In the presence of the troika, Anunay was always behind in the pecking order and the same could be the case going forward. Thus, Rajasthan will ponder whether they might be needing the services of the Bihar pacer in the seasons to come or not and if not, he could be released in the near future.
