Tamil Nadu has produced some top-tier cricketing talent. A state with well-organised cricket association (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) and a strong cricketing culture, Tamil Nadu has churned out the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Murali Vijay and Washington Sundar when it comes to the post-2000 era.

Ashwin, who recently retired from all forms of international cricket last year, is one of world cricket's finest and most skillful spinners. He ended with a plethora of records stacked up against his name. Karthik, who was the first Indian to win a Player of The Match award in T20Is, was part of India's title-winning T20 World Cup 2007 and Champions Trophy 2013. On the other hand, Murali Vijay made name as one of India's craftiest openers while Sundar has also established himself as an extremely useful all-rounder in the team.
