Three half-centuries and a fifer lit up the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night. Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 196/8 from 20 overs as Jasprit Bumrah grabbed an amazing fifer for his side in the first innings of match 25 in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024.

The visiting Bengaluru side were propelled to the total thanks to Rajat Patidar scoring 50 off 26 balls. Faf Du Plessis got to his 34th IPL half-century before Dinesh Karthik added the finishing touches with a blistering 53* from just 23 balls.

Mumbai Indians: 50 runs in 4.5 overs 

Needing 197 runs to win, Mumbai Indians scored just 9 runs from their first 2 overs. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma opened their arms and began taking the RCB bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Ishan Kishan: Half-century off 23 balls

It seemed as if Kishan was telling Dinesh Karthik that he can better him. The MI wicketkeeper-batter kept hitting boundaries and got to his 50 with a four off Glenn Maxwell on the 23rd ball he faced.

Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 and First Strategic Time-out (Mandatory – 72/0)

Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell conceded 47 runs from their 3 overs against a rampaging MI batting unit. Ishan Kishan in particular was severe on anything short or wide as he took full toll of some generous bowling by the Bengaluru bowlers.

Mumbai Indians: 100 runs in 8.3 overs

Faf Du Plessis had nowhere to hide, as his bowlers could only see Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma take charge. The two Mumbai Indians players showed a lot of aggression to put their team on course for a huge win.

Mumbai Indians: 150 runs from 11.5 overs

Suryakumar Yadav dusted off his rust as he smacked the opposition bowlers to all parts of Wankhede Stadium. Will Jacks got the wicket of Rohit Sharma for 38 to bring some respite for RCB.

Suryakumar Yadav: Half-century off 17 balls

After scoring a two ball duck against Delhi Capitals, Suryakumar Yadav was a man possessed. The 33-year-old scored his half-century from just 17 balls to totally demolish the RCB bowlers.

End of the match: Mumbai Indians: 199/3 from 15.3 overs

Mumbai Indians batters decimated the RCB bowling to post a huge win. It was a brutal assault, as the target was achieved even before the 2nd time-out could be taken. Hardik Pandya hit the winning runs with a six with 27 balls left and 7 wickets in hand.
