Pakistan (PAK) and Sri Lanka (SL) will face off each other in the eighth match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 10.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka suffered a humiliating defeat in their first match against South Africa in Delhi after Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision backfired as they conceded a mammoth total of 428 runs, the highest total in the history of the ODI World Cup. 

Despite making a dismal start during the chase, wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis steadied the Sri Lankan innings. Later Charith Asalanka and Shanaka tried their best could only lessen the margin of defeat to 102 runs.
