Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Head to Head Record in Asia Cup History

Both Bangladesh and Afghanistan are considered to be contenders to win the Asia Cup. Bangladesh and Afghanistan will clash in the 6th match of the Asia Cup 2023 on September 5 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Bangladesh will be without their senior batter Tamim Iqbal, who is injured, and will be led by Shakib Al Hasan. The match is expected to be a close one, with both teams having a good chance of winning.

Asghar Afghan leads the batting chart with 126 runs to his name followed by Hashmatullah Shahidi (129) and Mahmudullah (126). In the bowling department, spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan tops the chart with six wickets each, followed by Aftab Alam and Mohammad Nabi who both have four wickets each.

Bangladesh and Afghanistan last meeting 

Both teams last met in Match 3 of Asia Cup 2022 in Sharjah, where Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets. Bangladesh batted first and scored 127 runs in 20 overs. Mosaddek Hossain top-scored with 48 runs, but the rest of the batsmen struggled. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan took three wickets each for Afghanistan. In response to 127 Ibrahim Zadran (42*) and Najibullah Zadran (43*) to help chase down the target with seven wickets in hand. As result Mujeeb was awarded the Player of the Match for his spell of 3/16
