LSG vs SRH: IPL 2025 Records & Stats at Ekana Cricket Stadium Stadium, Lucknow
LSG are on a three-match losing streak and need to win all their remaining games to qualify for the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been eliminated from Indian Premier League 2025 and will come out to play for pride against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 61 of the tournament. While LSG are still in contention for the playoffs, they will be ruled out if they lose any of their three remaining matches.
They are currently on three-match losing streak. Rishabh Pant and his men were completely blown away against Punjab Kings in their last match in Dharamsala as Prabhsimran Singh's 91 and starts from all other batters took Punjab a strong total. Then, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh struck thrice in the powerplay in LSG's chase and that was that for the visitors. Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad were the only LSG batters to get a respectable score, but that cou;d only reduced LSG's margin of loss.
SRH's last match ended as a damp squib against Delhi Capitals in Hyderabad. Pat Cummins struck thrice in the powerplay, including off the first ball of the match. Jaydev Unadkat lent his skipper the best support with an economic spell as DC had half their side in the hut by the seventh over. Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma then put up a partnership to bring DC back from the brink. However, the rain had the final say even before SRH's openers could walk out of the chase.
The no result in their last game had knocked SRH out of the tournament. With only their pride left to play for in this season, SRH will look to settle the scores from the reverse fixture in Hyderabad. Shardul Thakur's double strike in the second over had put SRH on the backfoot. Travis Head and Nitish Reddy got starts, but LSG's bowlers struck back. Aniket Verma and Pat Cummins played cameos to give SRH's total some respectability.
Aiden Markram departed early in the chase, but Nicholas Pooran put all doubts to rest. Pooran took just 26 balls to make his 70 as Mitchell Marsh's fifty and Abdul Samad's cameo let LSG be done with the chase of 190 with almost four overs to spare.
