England cricketer suffers horrific injury, needs to be operated

In a very unfortunate turn of events, an amateur cricketer in England has ended up with 15 fractures while playing cricket. Alex Tait was left badly hurt after a ball smashed right into his face in a freak accident during the accident. The sad part is that he is now unable to work at the new job that he recently got. Also, he cannot even claim medical or sick pay since he is new to his workplace. He has a three-year-old son and is expecting his second child in coming weeks. In a conversation with Sun Online, Alex Tait informed that he will be missing the 20-week scan of his second child due to the injury. Earlier, he has expected the injury to be a minor one and was hoping to get back to work soon. However, he has been informed by the doctors that this is just not possible. The accident took place on February 13. The ball was driven directly back at his head, following which he had to be hospitalized. There is some serious damage to his brain and his eyes. The doctors are still not sure about the severity of the injury. He is scheduled to undergo a surgery tomorrow. The surgery will see the surgeons cut him ear to ear to insert the metal plates in his brain. Talking about the status of his injury, he noted that he might end up some of his vision. He looks sad at the fact that he will have to quit his favorite sport after the surgery. “I am having the operation tomorrow at Bradford Royal Infirmary and there may some loss of vision in my right eye but won’t know till a few weeks after. I have played cricket and football all my life as a junior, I have been hit with numerous injuries needing operations but this is the straw that broke the camels back and I now have to retire from both sports that I love. I am truly touched by the response from friends, family and the cricket community.” Apparently, the friends, family and the cricket fans have been contributing towards his surgery.
