Entire Pakistan stands with Kashmiris, says Sarfaraz Ahmed after India abrogate Article 370

The Government of India took a historic decision to scrap Article 370 earlier this month. This led to the special status of Jammu Kashmir being removed. The state of Jammu and Kashmir will now cease to exist and it will be replaced by two Union Territories; Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. While the whole nation celebrated and supported the bold step taken by the Government, the reaction across the border is different.

It has also been reported that the Kashmiris are not happy with the decision and Pakistan has vowed to stand by them. Some of the Pakistan cricketers have also opened up on the matter with Shahid Afridi slamming the UN for not reacting over the same. The latest player to open up on the Article 370 being scrapped is the Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed who cleared that his country stands with the Kashmir.

Eid was celebrated across the world on Monday and while speaking to the media, Sarfaraz expressed himself over the matter.

I pray to the Almighty Allah

“I pray to the Almighty Allah to help and rescue our Kashmiri brothers sail over these tough times. We all equally share their pain and misery. Entire Pakistan today stands with them,” he was quoted as saying by latestly. Shahid Afridi, earlier, batted for the right of Freedom of Kashmir to extend his support to them.

“Kashmiris must be given their due rights as per #UN resolution. The rights of Freedom like all of us. Why was @UN created & why is it sleeping? The unprovoked aggression & crimes being committed in Kashmir against #Humanity must be noted. The @POTUS (US President) must play his role to mediate,” he tweeted last week when the decision was finalised.

However, as soon as the bill was passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, there were celebrations all over India with even some of the Indian cricketers welcoming the decision.
