Five top cricketers who were involved in s*x scandals

Cricketers often hog all the limelight and are considered to be the demigods by the fans. With this immense popularity comes a monumental responsibility. They are always under scrutiny and are expected to maintain a certain decorum in society. Their behaviour, words, actions – everything is under keen watch. Cricketers like Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul had to bear the brunt of the anger of people just because they made some misogynistic comments on a talk show. They faced severe backlash and paid a hefty price for their wrong-doings. While this was considered to be extremely offensive, some of the cricketers completely rocked the fraternity with s*x scandals and tarnished the image of the game. During the time when the league was popular for its party culture, Gayle shared some intimate moments with Bollywood actress Sherlyn Chopra. After finding her at a bar, the Windies cricketer took an instant liking for the actress. Gayle was spotted ‘dirty dancing’ with Sherlyn and also removed his shirt at one point in time. Apparently, Gayle also asked Sherlyn out for a date and there was a lot brewing up between these two. She said that she had fun ‘dirty dancing’ with the cricketer and added that she liked his physique and the way he bats. However, neither of them talked much about what really happened later and there are allegations that it was a one-night stand. Chris Gayle also made the headlines when he made vulgar comments on the anchors in CPL 2014 and BBL 2017-18. You can watch the video here 2. Sanath Jayasuriya Sanath Jayasuriya. The Sri Lankan legend blew bowling attacks apart with ease and had a long-lasting career. But, the cricketer-turned-politician got into the news for a shameful reason in 2017. Jayasuriya leaked a ‘revenge porn’ s*x tape on the internet where he was filmed in the act with his ex-wife, Maleeka. Clearly, he was seen filming the video and leaked it after the two parted ways. The video went viral on the internet and brought a lot of disgrace to the cricketer. You can watch the video here 3. Shane Warne Shane Warne. The former leg-spinner was involved in multiple s*x scandals during his career and often made the headlines. In 2000, when he was playing for Hampshire, Warne pestered British nurse Donna Wright with a series of phone calls and smutty voice messages. He was sacked of Australia’s vice-captaincy as a result. In 2003, he bombarded stripper Angela Gallagher with some raunchy text messages. These claims came a few weeks after South African Helen Cohen Alon made similar claims. In 2006, just a year after another phone s*x scandal, Warne was with two 25-year-old models during Hampshire’s Championship match against Middlesex. One of the ladies claimed that Warne blew their minds. She added that she’d give him top marks for more than satisfying them. By that point, the cricketer’s wife, Simone, filed a divorce. Warne courted several other controversies later as well, but these stands to be the most prominent ones. You can watch the video here 4. Kevin Pietersen Kevin Pietersen. (Photo Source: Twitter) The South Africa-born English cricketer, Kevin Pietersen also had a fair share of controversies during his career. The former cricketer was involved in an unwelcoming incident in 2005. His former girlfriend, Big Brother ‘beauty’ and fellow-South African Vanessa Nimmo accused that Pietersen dumped her after a one-month affair with an SMS. Nimmo didn’t spare KP for this act and took it to the media to share every detail about the moments she had with him. She claimed that Pietersen was hungry for s*x all day and noted that he even pestered her for the same. Nimmo said that she was clearly not hit for a six by Pietersen’s performances. 5. Along with his teammates Atiq-uz-Zaman and Hasan Raza, Afridi was caught entertaining a group of ladies in their hotel room in Karachi. Even though the cricketers claimed that the girls only came for autographs, the PCB wasn’t to believe their words. The board handed them with some harsh punishments after the incident. According to ESPN Cricinfo, the trio was fined and banned for the ICC Champions Trophy 2001 that took place in Kenya. Afridi later said that his family was very critical of his actions and regretted what he did. This incident is something that the fans and the cricketer wouldn’t like to recall, for it tarnished the image of Afridi on a huge scale.
