Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who last played for India in 2016 in a T20I game against UAE during Asia Cup won the internet today with his warm gesture. He took to his Twitter handle to wish Saqlain Mushtaq, his idol, on the spin maestro’s 41st birthday. Harbhajan termed Mushtaq as his idol and also called him one of the best spinners and match-winners of his generation. Saqlain Mushtaq, who gained popularity popular for his deceiving ‘Doosra’, played a total of 49 Tests and 169 ODIs for Pakistan.

He was one of the early few bowlers to have mastered the craft of ‘Doosra.’ The 41-year-old currently works as a spin consultant for the England cricket team. Three Lions’ all-rounder Moeen Ali, who is an integral cog in the England team set-up has also done quite well ever since Saqlain took over the role.

Later, Harbhajan also mastered the trick of ‘Doosra’ which helped him become one of the leading spinners during his stint. Wishing the Pakistani great on his birthday, Harbhajan wrote, “Wishing @Saqlain_Mushtaq One of the best off-spinner and biggest match winner, real Doosra king my idol a very happy birthday  God bless you brother.”

It’s been quite some time since Harbhajan donned the national outfit. Although, the 37-year-old is in the later stages of his career, but he has not announced his retirement. He is still active playing all forms of the game at the domestic level and is looking to make a comeback in the side.

He has squeezed his presence in the first-class format and has only played two FC games in last two seasons. The upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy will again be an opportunity for him to present a case for himself. However, there seems a very bleak chance of a comeback, especially when the selectors have dropped Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja from the limited-overs side.
