Harsha Bhogle extremely disappointed for an Indian player's exclusion

Sanju Samson is still counted as MS Dhoni’s replacement once the latter retires from the game of cricket. Of late, the young wicketkeeper-batsman is struggling to make himself fit enough to play the game. Recently, he failed to pass the yo-yo test. The prescribed score for yo-yo test is 16.1 and the wicket-keeper failed to reach the target. Consequently, Samson was pulled out of India A’s squad for England tour. Shreyas Iyer-led India A travelled to England for the tri-series against England Lions and Windies A. The tri-series is all set to start from 17th June with four warm-up games, six league games and the final, which is slated to take place on 2nd July. Sanju Samson’s axing due to poor fitness is a shocking development for the cricketing world. The renowned veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to express his disappointment over Samson’s axing for the tri-series. He added that any team in the world can’t let a fine talent like Samson to miss out. Bhogle’s tweet read, “I am extremely disappointed that Sanju Samson won’t be in England with the ‘A’ team. I guess the fitness rules apply to everyone but we cannot let a fine talent miss out. Samson did exceptionally well in IPL 2018 by scoring 441 runs in 15 matches for Rajasthan Royals. Though the team failed to cross the line, Samson’s efforts with the willow were valuable for the team and for the batsman himself. However, his career going ahead will be a roller coaster ride. He will aim to work on his fitness and pass the yo-yo test in near future to make it to the Indian team.
