Team India completed an excellent series victory over England after winning the third and final ODI match on July 17 (Sunday). Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was simply amazing with the bat as the left-handed batter completed a stunning century and was adjudged Player of the Match for his vital contribution with the bat.

However, it was not only Pant who contributed to India’s victory as star allrounder Hardik Pandya shone with both bat and ball. Pandya first took four crucial wickets for the Men in Blue as England were restricted to 259. Coming to bat, Pandya stroked an excellent 71 runs before getting out, but left India in a comfortable position to win the match

Netizens express their disappointment after Pandya not being named as player of the match

Despite performing with both bat and ball, Pandya was not named as player of the match as the award was given to Pant, which did not go down well with some of the Indian fans. Pandya was not named as Player of the Match, but the star all-rounder did receive the Player of the Series award for his vital contributions throughout the series.

Pandya finished as the second-highest run-getter in the ODI series, stroking 100 runs in three matches at an average of 50. He also scalped six wickets in three outings at an average of 16.71 and finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in the three-match series.

Talking about his innings during the third ODI, India were in huge trouble after losing four wickets for just 72, but Pandya along with Pant stitched a valuable partnership as the Men in Blue made a strong comeback. The right-handed batter took just 55 balls to reach 71 runs and also stroked 10 boundaries. In bowling, Pandya scalped some crucial wickets of Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Liam Livingstone to leave the home in a troublesome situation.
