The Rajasthan Royals continue their surreal race to the playoffs with their 5th victory in 12 matches this season. They defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad after four years and in order dented the chances of Kane Williamson-led team as well. Manish Pandey came good for SRH twice in two matches as he scored at 36-ball 61 batting at No.3. However, yet another poor finish saw the Sunrisers be restricted to only 160/8. Top-order put their hands up in the chase to take the hosts through with five balls and seven wickets in hand.

Royals finally defeat SRH:

4 – Rajasthan Royals brought an end to their 4-match losing streak in the IPL against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their last win over SRH came in the 2015 season while playing in Vizag where they registered a 6-wicket win.


Another big season for Warner:

611 – David Warner became the first player to reach the 600-run mark in this IPL. This is the 3rd time that Warner aggregated 600+ runs in an IPL season with the first two being 2016 and 2017. He is only the 2nd player after Chris Gayle to score 600+ runs in three different IPL seasons which he did it in three straight seasons – 2011, 2012 and 2013.


A first for Pandey:

1 – Manish Pandey scored fifty-plus scores in consecutive innings for the first time in his IPL career. His 27-ball fifty in this game is his 3rd fastest fifty in the IPL. The 25-ball fifty in the previous game against CSK is Pandey’s fastest IPL fifty.


A sluggish inning from Davey:

32David Warner failed to hit a boundary during his 32-ball 37. This is the 4th longest innings for any player in the IPL without a boundary. Steve Smith recorded two of the top three instances as he faced 39 balls and 33 balls respectively in the 2017 and 2014 season matches against the Sunrisers. Ross Taylor also batted 35 balls without hitting a boundary against the Rajasthan Royals in the 2012 edition.


37 – Runs Warner scored in this game; the most by any player without hitting a boundary in an IPL inning. Steve Smith’s 34 during his 39-ball stay against SRH in 2014 is the previous highest individual score in the IPL without a boundary.


Unadkat among top Indian pacers in IPL:

5 – Number of player of the match awards in the IPL for the Jaydev Unadkat; the joint 3rd most for an Indian pacer in the IPL. Umesh Yadav leads the list with eight POTM awards while Ashish Nehra also has six such awards. Unadkat is currently tied with Bhuvneshwar Kumar as both have five player of the match awards.
