IPL 2022, Match 35 KKR vs GT, Stats Preview: Players records and approaching milestones
Gujarat Titans are top of the table while Kolkata Knight Riders are placed on the seventh position
Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans will be facing each other in the 35th match of IPL 2022, to be played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. While KKR finished as the runners-up last season, GT are playing in their maiden IPL season. Gujarat Titans are on the top of the table with five wins and only one loss, while Kolkata Knight Riders are seventh in the points table with three wins and four losses. KKR have played only one match at DY Patil Stadium this season, and they have lost to RCB in a close match. On the other hand, GT has played two matches at DY Patil Stadium, having won one match and losing one match.
KKR had massive opening issues, until the last match where Aaron Finch scored a 28-ball 58 for them. In the middle-order, Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana have found their mojo, and Andre Russell is highly destructive once he got going. With the ball, Umesh Yadav was brilliant as a wicket-taker, as was Sunil Narine in controlling the run flow.
Gujarat Titans are the most consistent team of the season so far, having lost only one match. However, their openers haven’t been in good form, barring a couple of knocks from Shubman Gill within their first three matches. Their middle-order is unmatched with the skipper Hardik Pandya scoring plenty of runs alongside the destructive David Miller. Season debutant Abhinav Manohar has also begun in a good manner. Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson, and Rashid Khan ensured that their heavy investment in bowling options yielded the result needed.
