IPL Purple Cap Winners List from 2008 to 2025
Punjab Kings pacer Harshal Patel bagged the Purple Cap in IPL 2024 for picking 24 wickets in 14 games.

Bowlers have found it difficult to stop the flow of runs on most surfaces in the IPL, especially after the introduction of the Impact Player rule, which allows teams to use an extra batter in their lineups. However, this season, the BCCI has introduced a new rule to reduce the impact of dew—one of the biggest challenges for bowlers in the second innings.
After the 10th over in the second innings, umpires can decide to use a new ball if they feel that there is considerable dew on the ground.
In IPL 2025, the Purple Cap went to Prasidh Krishna, who bagged 25 wickets in 15 games.
