Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has been garnering headlines after he announced that he and his wife Kyly will be getting divorced after seven years of marriage. According to the reports in the media, the celebrity couple separated five months ago, with the former captain moving out of their home in Vaucluse before relocating to the couples’ Bondi beachfront pad, worth $8 million.

The former Australian captain represented his country in 115 Tests during which he racked up 8643 runs including 28 centuries. Under Clarke, Australia registered a 5-0 drubbing against England in the 2013-14 Ashes before going on to win their fifth 50-over World Cup title in the summer of 2015.

Clarke and his wife had issued a joint statement regarding the same where they said: “After living apart for some time, we have made the difficult decision to separate as a couple, amicably. With the greatest of respect for each other, we’ve come to the mutual conclusion that this is the best course for us to take while committed to the co-parenting of our daughter.”

And, now Clarke has confirmed his next move. The Australian will soon be joining the Big Sports Breakfast Show this year alongside former Rugby league great Laurie Daley.

“Getting some tips from the great man @laurie_daley6 (sic) about how to wake up at 4am,” Clarke wrote in an Instagram post on his profile.

Michael Clarke has been in the news for his turbulent relationships

This is not the first time that the former Australian captain is in the news for his turbulent relationships. Back in 2010- exactly ten years ago- Clarke’s relationship with model Lara Worthington after a two-year engagement came to an end. His split with Lara Worthington was much publicized in the media and rumours abound that her $200,000 five-carat engagement ring was flushed down the toilet of their Bondi property, a claim Michael Clarke repeatedly denied.

And, now ten years later, his seven-year marriage is well-and-truly on the rocks. The pair have reportedly zeroed-in on a $40 million settlement while the 38-year-old Kyly will continue to live with four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee in their Vaucluse property.
