India and England locked horns in the first T20I at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The match was a one-sided affair as the Men in Blue romped home by eight wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul helped their team carve the masterful victory. After winning the toss and electing to field first, the likes of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler blazed away.

However, Umesh Yadav picked up Roy to draw first blood. In the 11th over, Kuldeep Yadav nipped out Alex Hales and then the Chinaman ripped the heart out of England’s batting with the wickets of Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root in his next over. The jolts were severe for the hosts and they somehow crawled to 159 runs, mostly because of David Willey’s cameo of 29 runs in the dying stages of their innings.

Vaughan’s analysis of the Indian lineup

During the run-chase, Willey castled Shikhar Dhawan in the very first over, but KL Rahul took the bowling by the scruff of their necks and took Virat Kohli’s men to the ascendancy. After accomplishing his fifty, he came on to his own and achieved his century in 53 balls. The assault was venomous enough to take the sting out of the bowlers and India tracked down the target with 10 balls to spare.

Meanwhile, former English cricketer Michael Vaughan hailed Kuldeep for his masterclass with the leather. Nevertheless, he also mentioned that the Blue Army played a tad better than Australia, who succumbed to six consecutive defeats in their erstwhile tour of the European nation.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “Kuldeep Yadav is causing absolutely chaos ……. The Indians are a little bit better than the Aussies ……. #ENGvIND”
