Dewald Brevis snagged a brilliantly judged opportunity to send Jacob Bethell back to the pavilion during Match 52 of the ongoing IPL 2025 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Bethell's wicket was the first breakthrough CSK inflicted on the home side after putting RCB in to bat first.

An off-pace delivery was fetched from outside off by the young English batting all-rounder to swat towards the leg-side. The ball went quite some distance in the air and seemed as if it would land between square leg and deep square leg. Brevis charged towards the ball from the fence and ended up taking a brilliant catch just inches off the ground to claim the first wicket of the innings.

Pathirana, after spending a few overs off the field due to a collision with Ravindra Jadeja earlier in the game, conceded only three in his first over. Bethell's wicket came at a crucial time for CSK, with the hosts in true command prior to Bethell departing for 55 off 33. His innings comprised eight fours and a couple of sixes.
