David Warner’s tremendous run with the bat has reflected on his ODI career as he taken only 93 innings for the 4000-run milestone. His dream run in the limited-overs cricket, especially in the ODIs began since the 2015 World Cup as he averages over 50 in the format in all 3 calendar years.

He has converted his last 6 fifties into centuries and all have come in his last 11 ODI innings before the ongoing Champions Trophy. After scoring only 18 runs vs New Zealand in the first game, Warner scored an unbeaten 40 against Bangladesh to complete 4000 runs. He became the 16th player from Australia and 104th overall to score 4000 runs in ODI cricket.

The dynamic Aussie completed his first 1000 runs in 31 innings while he reached 2000 runs in his 59th inning. He needed just 34 innings for scoring next 2000 runs. He completed 3000 ODI runs in 81 innings and stood among top 20 fastest to 3000 runs while in the next 12 innings he accumulated 1000 more runs to becomes the joint 3rd fastest to reach the 4000-run milestone in only 93 innings.

The destructive left-hander is equalled at 3rd spot with India’s Virat Kohli who also took 93 innings. South Africa’s Hashim Amla was the fastest to reach 4000 ODI runs as he needed 84 innings. He set the record in 2013 by overhauling Viv Richards who completed 4000 ODI runs in his 88th innings. The fastest Australian to complete 4000 runs in ODIs before Warner was Dean Jones who completed the milestone in his 102nd ODI innings.
