Top 5 bowlers with the most number of dot balls in IPL history
Over the 12 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there have been several craftsmen with the ball who have put the brakes on the scoring rate.
2. Lasith Malinga (1155 dots)
His ability to bowl toe crushing yorkers at the death is matched by none, and his subtle changes in pace coupled with his slinging action has made several batsmen appear totally clueless. Lasith Malinga is the highest wicket-taker in the history of the IPL and has a whopping 170 scalps to his name.
The 2011 Purple Cap winner has been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians outfit for 11 seasons now and has bowled a stunning 1155 dot balls in IPL cricket. Malinga’s strike rate of 16.62 is also the best among bowlers with at least 100 wickets in the IPL.
The Sri Lankan legend will turn out for the Mumbai Indians in the 2020 edition of the league and will form a potent pace bowling combination along with Jasprit Bumrah. Malinga is definitely not done yet, and a few more ‘toe crushers’ are yet to be unleashed from the arm of this pace bowling icon.
