Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant released from bio bubble, to skip 3rd T20I against West Indies

Kohli will now head back home and will not be a part of the bio bubble for the ongoing series against the West Indies cricket team.

Virat Kohli will not take part in the 3rd T20I against the West Indies that will be held on 20th February 2022. The Indian batting maestro has been given a break by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Kohli will now head back home and will not be a part of the bio bubble for the ongoing series against the West Indies cricket team.

“The BCCI has given Virat Kohli a break from the Bio-Bubble. He won’t be part of the 3rd T20I as he heads back to home. (Reported by PTI),” read a tweet by a handle by name Mufaddal Vohra.

Virat Kohli played a key role in India’s victory in the 2nd T20I

Virat Kohli scored a vital half-century for the Indian side in the 2nd T20I match against the West Indies side. The batting icon’s 41-ball 52 helped the Indian side post a total of 186/5 on the board, and helped them beat their opposition by a margin of 8 runs.

After the conclusion of the match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma stated that the 33-year-old Kohli played a crucial knock for the ‘Men in Blue’ and played some pleasing shots in his stay out in the middle.

“It was very important innings from Virat. The way he started off, took the pressure off me as well. We didn’t start well in the first two overs, then he came in and started playing those shots which was very pleasing to the eye,” said Rohit Sharma about Kohli in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20I cricket for the Indian side and has plundered a staggering 3296 runs in his career at an average in excess of 50 and a strike rate of 137.67. Kohli has also amassed 30 half-centuries in his illustrious T20I career.

Apart from Kohli, even wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been given a break by the BCCI and the left-hander will miss the 3rd T20I against the West Indies. Pant will also miss the T20I series against Sri Lanka that will commence on 24th February 2022 as well.
