MS Dhoni is known to be a person full of wits and quips. He shares a strong bond with Ravindra Jadeja developed playing together for India and CSK for years. Dhoni, who is cool as a cucumber on the field, even in difficult situations, has his own way of expressing his frustration.

This incident is regarding India’s tour to New Zealand in 2014. During the Wellington Test, Brendon McCullum and BJ Watling were en route a marathon partnership to sail New Zealand to a big total. Jadeja was not at his accurate best, and MS made it very clear what he wanted from his spinner. The wicket-keeper quipped, “Ispe ek ghumega toh idhar Pujara ko ussi ke liye rakha hai, who udhar taali bajane ke liye nahi hai”. This translates to “If the ball turns, I have kept Pujara in the slips for catching. He is not standing there just to clap.”

The former India skipper has come up with several of such amusing moments- on the field and in the press conferences. One such instance was after India’s semi-final loss to West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup. MS was continuously pestered with questions surrounding his retirement. He called upon one of the journalist to his side, and interestingly the journalist ended up admitting that Dhoni was fit enough to play the 2019 World Cup.
