On 18th June, Pakistan cricket team won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. They defeated the Indian team convincingly in the final by 180 runs. It was a sad day for the Indian cricket and for the whole nation. But on the same day, Indian police arrested 15 Muslims in Madhya Pradesh state on sedition charges after they allegedly raised pro-Pakistan slogans.

The arrests were made in Burhanpur district against the person accused of firing crackers, as quoted by The Express Tribune. People should understand that many emotions and sentiments get affected by such activities. According to police inspector Sanjay Pathak, a local resident told them over the phone about the celebration in Pakistan’s favor. After an investigation, the police found that 15 people were involved in it.

The inspector added that the 15 people were booked under Section 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) and 124A (sedition) of Indian Penal Code. These 15 Muslims would be produced in the court on Tuesday, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

It was an unforgettable day for the Indian team and people of the nation should either support them or should keep their calm. The Indian team played with great pride and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. They should be appreciated for their efforts and the competitive spirit they have shown in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. People of the nation should respect the Indian team and their emotions.

In the end, people should understand that cricket is just a game and wins and defeats should be accepted with both hands and gracefully. Th players are also human beings and mistakes are bound to happen. It wasn’t like the team lost in the first round. Out of the 8 teams in the tournament, India finished second, which is a remarkable achievement in itself.
