Having made a mark with CSK in the past few seasons, the talented South African pacer was snapped by DC in an amazingly shrewd deal for just 50 lakhs. However, he is yet to record even a single appearance for the franchise as DC finds themselves at 6th place on the points table.

Boasting impressive T20 credentials with a career average of under 19 and an economy of under 8 for someone who bowls in the power play and at the death, it has been surprising that he hasn’t been given a chance by Delhi yet. This could’ve been partly due to a wealth of bowling options in the Delhi ranks like Nortje and Mustafizur among other established Indian nationals.

However, with DC’s bowling unit leaking runs, Ngidi could just provide the bowling impetus that Delhi has lacked so far to take a mediocre campaign to the next level with his knack for picking up crucial wickets and simultaneously keeping the runs down.
