The 14th edition of the IPL saw two matches being played simultaneously for the first time ever in the 14-year history of the tournament. We have seen this before in the Premier League, where the final few games are played at the same time to avoid any unfair advantage to the team which can see the result of the previous match and influence the result of their match unfairly.

This can also add more drama to the ever-so-dramatic IPL with net run rate involved. This will ensure no team has an upper hand over the other. This can also increase the viewership for the broadcasters as four teams would be involved simultaneously, which means the fans and supporters of all the four teams will be glued to their television sets.

Meanwhile, unlike the previous season, fans are unlikely to witness two games simultaneously in IPL 2022 as the last seven league-stage games are single-headers.
