When it boils down to controversies, both Kieron Pollard and Kevin Pietersen have hogged the headlines in their respective careers. They were involved in a small banter during Melbourne Stars’ clash with the Adelaide Strikers in the erstwhile season of the Big Bash League.

During the Stars’ run chase, Kevin was batting on 19 runs when he noticed a tape on Pollard’s right hand. Afterwards, the English cricketer asked the bowler to remove it as it was distracting him. Pollard defended himself by saying that it was used to protect his bruised hand.

Even the on-field umpires had contrasting opinions on the matter. However, after much drama, play resumed and Pollard didn’t remove the tape. Meanwhile, Pietersen was mic’d up and his conservation with the players, umpires and the commentators were clearly audible.
