Twitter announced the most liked tweet of this year in India and it was the tweet from the Indian Test captain Virat Kohli. Virushka is the most celebrated couple in India and they were expecting a baby this year.

They both were blessed with a baby girl in the month of January. Virat announced Vamika’s arrival on his Twitter handle by thanking the fans for their love and wishes. That particular tweet got 540K likes and became the most liked tweet of the year.

Pat Cummins, the Australian Test captain is quite active on social platforms. He represented the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League this year. The IPL was brought back to India in April 2021 and the matches were held at a few selected venues.

A few weeks after the IPL started, the COVID-19 cases started to rise again in the Indian subcontinent. The country suffered a lot in the second wave of pandemic and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi requested the abled people to donate for the covid relief funds.

Soon after the request, Cummins showed his gratitude for this nation by donating an amount of $50,000 to the PM care funds. He was much appreciated by people all over the world for his generous attitude. He announced this through his Twitter handle and this became the most retweeted tweet of this year with 114.1K retweets.

Michael Vaughan is a former English cricketer and his counterpart Wasim Jaffer is a former cricketer of the Indian side. They both are very active on Twitter and they are most loved and followed for their friendly banters.

Michael and Wasim have been against each other on a few occasions. The particular instance which features on this list is a video that was posted by Wasim Jaffer as a troll for Vaughan’s tweet which stated 92 all-out India. Can’t believe any team would get bowled out for under a 100 these days!”.

Vaughan took a dig in 2019 by tweeting the above lines as India bundled out for 89 runs in an ODI match against New Zealand. MS Dhoni had a lean patch in the previous two seasons of IPL. Dhoni struggled to score runs and finish the matches in the league but was much anticipated by the fans to see his comeback.

One fine day in the first qualifier match against Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super King’s skipper came to bat in the 19th over with 24 runs needed from just two overs. Dhoni hit a six in the second ball he faced and played a match-winning knock of 18* from six deliveries and finished the match with a boundary.

5. PM Narendra Modi’s congratulatory tweet for the Indian team

This year has indeed been a special one for India. The Indian team beat the mighty Australian side at their unbreachable “Fortress Gabba” and became the first team to defeat Aussies on this ground. This record was very much recognized and appreciated all over the world.
