Without a doubt, one can say that the biggest strength of the IPL lies in its fanbase. They have always backed the tournament irrespective of the controversies surrounding the league. In return, they have only wished for pure cricketing action. Hence it will not be wrong to say that the fans have played a huge role in making this league a grand success.

That’s why the league has often come up with new ideas to maintain the same level of support from their well-wishers. One of them being the concept of fan-parks which was first introduced in the 2015 IPL. Its primary objective is to attract more cricketing audience across the country. Besides, it will also help the game reach a wider section of society.

In all the fan-park has been a great initiative by the league but it will have to be shelved for the upcoming edition. To reduce the community spread of the Coronavirus, the central government has already advised to avoid mass gatherings. Such programs will put the lives of fans in danger and so it is the responsibility of the league authorities to keep the interests of their supporters ahead of theirs.
