<p>The Kings XI Punjab&#8217;s rollercoaster ride in IPL 2020 didn&#8217;t reach the desired destination. Unfortunately, they bowed out of the tournament after another hammering from the <strong>Chennai Super Kings</strong>. It has been an eventful season for them, with sky highs following their initial lows. And then finally, a couple of losses brought their campaign to an abrupt end. Still, there are a lot of positives for them as they have found a good core for the upcoming seasons.</p>
<p>The team management will also be delighted with the growth of their uncapped Indian players. The likes of Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh have shown glimpses of their potential. Having said that, they also made the mistake of not utilizing their resources completely. They didn&#8217;t try out an emerging talent like Ishan Porel. The speedster could have been a useful option in their pace department, which mostly relied on Mohammed Shami.</p>
<p>Porel has been rising through the pecking order ever since his impressive outings in the 2018 U-19 World Cup. He has been putting up consistent performances for his domestic side Bengal and India A. Mainly; he scalped nine wickets in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Thereafter, he again hogged the limelight with his spells on the tour of New Zealand. And now the national selectors have rewarded by including him in the 32-member squad to Australia. So seeing his mercurial rise, Punjab should have given him his debut cap in the IPL.</p>

More importantly, they sealed that elusive playoffs spot in IPL 2020. And now, they have a golden opportunity to get to their maiden IPL final when they take on Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1. Delhi has played some quality cricket in the last seven weeks, and that&#8217;s why they are in the second position in the points table.</p>
<p>It has been a collective effort from the Delhi unit as both their batsmen and bowlers have stood up for the team at different times. More so the bowling which has been served by some of the best in the business like Kagiso Rabada and Ravi Ashwin. <p>Since then, he has played nine games over two seasons and has picked up 13 wickets in the league. Besides, he has been growing into a star attraction in the T20 leagues around the globe. And it is clear from the recently concluded CPL where he bagged 12 wickets in the tournament. Sadly, the 4-overseas player rule and the presence of Indian capped spinners have limited his opportunities this year. Delhi could have slipped him in a couple of games, but the team chose not to, which is strange considering his talent.</p>

That&#8217;s why he should have been the team&#8217;s first-choice to resolve their middle-order problems. Unfortunately for him, the Hyderabad team has gone with Priyam Garg and Abdul Samad. And now with the business end of the tournament, he is unlikely to get a chance in this season, even if the team makes it to the final four.</p>
