Manish Pandey is yet another cricketer whose journey has been like an elevated railway. The lad got in the limelight after becoming the first Indian cricketer to score an IPL century and his dream to play international cricket got its wings after he hit a match-winning ton at the SCG in 2016. However, things have not been really well for the Karnataka cricketer ever since this once-in-a-lifetime knock.

After a decent performance in 2016, Pandey got 11 more opportunities in the following year but he bottled it on most of the occasions. His IPL performance hasn’t been that well as well. Even though he did fine in the previous edition of the IPL, most of his good knocks came while playing at the top order.

However, with a massive top-order already there, there’s hardly any vacancy left for a top-order batsman. Hence, Manish Pandey will have to bat in the middle order which is his weak point. And with many other middle-order talents like Nitish Rana and Ishan Kishan already there in the country, the 30-year old could’ve been left out.
