If there is one format where Rohit Sharma has struggled the most in is Test Cricket. He is in and out of the side regularly and hasn’t really got a long run ever. He was supposed to make his debut is 2010 against South Africa, but an ankle injury just prior to the game ruled him out and he had to wait for 3 more years until 2013 to finally make his Test debut in Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell series.

As fate would have it, he made his debut at his favourite hunting ground Eden Gardens and scored 177 against the West Indies. Virat too made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2011 and scored 4 and 15 in 2 innings and was out to Fidel Edwards in both the innings who troubled him a lot throughout the series.

As of today, Virat is the No.1 ranked Test batsman in the World and Rohit is struggling to even find a spot in India’s playing XI. The fact remains that no one can change history and it will always say that Rohit scored a century in his debut Test and Virat didn’t, no matter how many runs the latter scores in his career.
