3. Aleem Dar fails to see AB de Villiers’ edge:

Although Aleem Dar is a fantastic umpire and someone who is widely regarded as a terrific umpire, Dar also has had his fair share of ups and downs. However, things came to a halt when he made a howler of a decision in the India v South Africa match at Ireland.

An outswinger from Zaheer Khan beat a young AB de Villiers all ends up as the latter went on to get an outside edge. The catch was completed by Sachin Tendulkar who was placed at second slip. The nick was a definitive one and the catch had been completed. However, it was given not out by Dar.

India went on to lose the match, a low scoring encounter. Despite making up for their shortcomings in the previous match with a win in the subsequent encounter, the video has been used by one and all to showcase umpiring howlers at the moment.
