The second semi-final of the World T20 2016 witnessed the clash between the hosts Indian Cricket Team and the West Indies. The game was a high-octane thriller which went down to the wire and was eventually won by the Windies. The Indian team had to receive heavy criticism after the game as silly mistakes like overstepping on wicket-taking deliveries and giving two successive lives to Lendl Symmons took the game far away from their reach.

Howbeit, what stole all the attention after the game ended was a controversial tweet posted by the Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim. The wicketkeeper-batsman, after the game, tweeted an image of him celebrating with the caption, “Happiness is this….!!!!!! #ha ha ha..!!!! India lost in the semifinal.. ????????????”.

He also posted a similar sort of image on facebook as well, whose caption read, “Happiness is this…. Now I can sleep much better ???????????????? Windies you beauty!!!!” These posts created a lot of controversy and Mushfiqur was taken to task by tons of angry Indian fans. Moreover, he received criticism from all over the world and as a result, had to eventually delete the posts.
