Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the two pillars of India cricket. In the past decade, the two have been there in India’s success across the globe. However, it was almost after a year that the two took the field for India together. At this, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer was asked who is his favourite between Rohit and Virat. The answer by Jaffer stole the hearts of many netizens.

Jaffer has been quite active on social media recently. He has uploaded a lot of tweets and is known for trolling people in his own style on Twitter. His endeavours on the micro-blogging site have been taken in the right spirit by many fans and also loved by them.

This incident started with a fan asking Jaffer on Twitter, who is his favourite batsman between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The veteran responded to the tweets saying that the two players are stronger when they play with each other. India has had tremendous success when the two star players have performed and seldom they lose a match when the two have batted well.

The impeccable record of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

The duo has a record which is incomparable with any pair who have played in history. They have had more partnerships in ODIs than in Tests. In the 80 ODI innings in which they have batted together, they have accumulated 4878 runs which put them seventh on the all-time list of batting pairs in ODI cricket.

Interestingly, their partnership average of 65 is better than any pair with more than 4,000 runs together in the history of ODI cricket. They have had 16 centuries partnerships while 14 other 50+ stands together. Whenever the two have scored runs together, India has often found ways to beat the opposition.

The two are at the moment competing in the first Test against England in Chennai. England won the toss and elected to bat first. At the time of writing this, England was at 387 for 3, with their skipper Joe Root batting brilliantly on 168. Vice-captain Ben Stokes was also at the crease having been batting on 82. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin got the first scalp early on day one while Jasprit Bumrah took the other two wickets.
