Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra looks very pleased with the Indian team selected for the tour to West Indies. The selectors recently named the squad for the tour which saw the likes of Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah being rested. While the core of the team remained pretty much the same, the selectors opted to give a chance to the young guns as well.

Two of the most promising cricketers on the rise in the recent past have been Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant. Kuldeep Yadav is a chinaman spinner who had recently made his Test debut for India in the final Test of the 4 match Test series against Australia at home. On the other hand, youngster Rishabh Pant rose to prominence with some spectacular show in the domestic season this year where he hit the fastest hundred in Ranji Trophy history.

He also smashed a triple ton in the same competition this year. He translated his good run of form to the Indian Premier League as well where he amassed some quick runs for his team Delhi Daredevils. His superlative knock of 97 in a fixture against Gujarat Lions made him an overnight star. Aakash Chopra took to his social media handle to express his happiness over the inclusion of the two youngsters. He is hopeful to see them in the playing eleven now.

“Happy to see Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav’s name in the team for WI. Hope they play all the games too. #WIvInd, tweeted Aakash Chopra.

The Men in Blue will play 5 ODIs and a T20I on the tour starting June 23.
