‘Aamir Khan’s work is still doing wonders’ – Shoaib Akhtar responds as his son enjoys a song from Taare Zameen Par

Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan cricketer, takes a lot of interest in Indian cinemas. On Tuesday, June 29, the Rawalpindi Express showed the fan following his family members have for Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. The veteran uploaded a video where his son was seen, standing in front of the TV and shaking a leg to the song ‘Bum Bum Bole’ from Taare Zameen Par.

The movie released way back in 2007 and featured Aamir, along with Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra, and Vipin Sharma. The movie was based around a child, suffering from Dyslexia, a reading disorder, and then recovering to make impressive progress in his academic career. The film garnered loads of praise from the critics and became a Blockbuster.

In the meantime, Akhtar’s video of his son enjoying attracted a number of likes and comments. He captioned the video and wrote, “Amir Khan work is still doing wonders for every kid & mines to keep it up…,”

Earlier, Akhtar stated that he wanted Salman Khan to act in his biopic. “If ever my biopic is made, I want Salman Khan to play the lead in it,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq, a Pakistan journalist.

Akhtar’s career was marred with plenty of injuries and controversies. However, despite the turmoil, he turned out to be a brute force in Pakistan cricket. He made his debut back in 1997 and plied his trade at the highest level for as many as 14 years. The now 45-year-old Akhtar ran in and never compromised on his speed even if it meant leaking a few runs.

In 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is, he picked up 178, 247, and 19 wickets respectively. In his career, he tormented batters of the calibre of Brian Lara, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and many others.

Back in 2008, he also played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In one of the games against Delhi Daredevils, now Capitals, he got rid of the likes of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Manoj Tiwary, and AB de Villiers.
