Aaron Finch likely to replace David Warner for the remaining 3 ODIs against England: The Australian left handed opening batsman has been inflicted with a fractured left thumb injury. He will thus be out of international cricket for a period of 5-6 weeks. This injury dismantled the Australian squad to an extent as there is a void which is being created at the top order.

Australia will be touring Bangladesh after the series against England for a test series. Warner will be missed in the series in addition to the next three ODIs against England. Aaron Finch has been thought of as a replacement for Warner. He has been playing for Yorkshire. As of now, he is likely to be called in for the remaining three ODIs against England.

In addition to the void created in the opening slot, the position of the vice captain of the Australian squad has also been put to doubt. Warner will have to fight his injury to make mark in the test series against Bangladesh which starts from October 4th, just 34 days from today.

In a utter fast bouncer from Steve Finn, Warner was hit on his gloves while he tried to play the ball. X Rays have confirmed that he will be out of the field for a period of a minimum of 5 weeks due to the injury.

This injury has enhanced the prospects of players like Shaun Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja in earning the selection for the series against Bangladesh.

Immediately after the retirement of the former skipper Michael Clarke and opening batsman, Chris Rogers, David Warner’s presence would have been way too much vital for Australia, not only as a batsman’s perspective, but also in the perspective of a leader.

But throughout the past few years, the world of cricket did witness the toughness of David Warner and he has always conquered and dominated over his injuries and did have the guts to play for his country.

This has been proved for yet another time on Saturday.
