AB de Villiers expresses his excitement over playing with Brendon McCullum

In the auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore made sure that they gave something to talk about to the fans with their heavy batting order yet again. Even though they let go of Chris Gayle, they have acquired the services of Brendon McCullum who is an explosive opener as well but is far more reliable. Though the trio of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Gayle was something else altogether, it looks like Baz’s presence could mean something special for the fans too. While this unimaginable combination fans could only have dreamed out comes to life, McCullum mentions that these two are the players he has dreamed of playing with and de Villiers expresses that the feeling is mutual. Baz has been involved in another trio, at the Big Bash League, with Chris Lynn and Joe Burns, termed as the “Bash Brothers.” This trio can be great to watch on the field and off the field as well, considering franchises become a family in itself.

After being bought by RCB, Baz took to Twitter to express his excitement about playing with Kohli and de Villiers. He said, “Very very happy to be joining up with @RCBTweets. In @imVkohli and @ABdeVilliers17, they are two blokes I have dreamed of playing with!” de Villiers replied to it with mutual excitement saying, “Oh man, gonna be loads of fun! Can’t wait, Baz.”

Nonetheless, McCullum is the perfect replacement for Gayle because he is just as deadly, brutal and beautiful to watch as Gayle. They subject bowlers to similar treatment and for very long he was the only player to have scored a T20I century after Gayle. Interestingly, McCullum and Gayle open together for the Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League. Currently, the former is playing for the Brisbane Heat while the latter is enjoying his time off after a poor series against New Zealand. AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, on the other hand, are facing each other in India’s Tour of South Africa with the ODI series set to commence on February 1.
