Pakistan opening batter Abid Ali has been rushed to the hospital after he complained of chest pain while taking part in the Quaid E Azam trophy. He was rendering his services for the Central Punjab outfit.

This match was held at Karachi. This news was confirmed by a Twitter handle by name Sawera Pasha. Ali is reportedly undergoing some medical tests at the moment.

“Pakistan’s Test opener Abid Ali rushed to hospital after severe chest pain while playing in Quaid E Azam’s trophy match for Central Punjab vs KP.. Get well soon,” read a tweet from Sawera Pasha.

Abid Ali has experienced a stellar run in 2021 in Tests

Abid Ali has been in scintillating form in 2021 in Test match cricket. The right-handed opening batter has scored 695 runs in 15 innings this year in Tests, and has scored his runs at an average of close to 50. Ali has also scored 2 hundreds and 2 fifties as well in 2021.

Ali was last seen on the field for Pakistan during their two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Ali played a crucial role for Pakistan with the willow at the top of the order, and plundered 263 runs in the 3 innings he played against the Bangladeshi Tigers and helped his side whitewash their opponents.

Ali also won the Player of the Series award for his stupendous performance with the willow against the Bangladesh side. Ali has featured in 16 Test matches for the Pakistan side and has scored 1180 runs at an average of 49.17. The 34-year-old has also played 6 ODIs for the ‘Men in Green’, and has amassed 234 runs at an average of close to 40.
