Abu Dhabi T10: Fifth edition of the league to kick start from November 19

This will be the fifth edition of the League.

The fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league is all set to kick start on November 19. With the likes of the big names such as Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard, and Mohammad Shahzad the tournament is expected to be a box-office. The shortest format league will be thus played from November 19 to December 14.

A total of eight teams had featured in the previous edition of the tournament, namely Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Delhi Bulls, Pune Devils, Maratha Arabians, Qalandars, Northern Warriors, and Team Abu Dhabi. By defeating the Delhi Bulls by eight wickets, the Nicholas Pooran led Northern Warriors were crowned as the champions of Season 4.

They however also became the only team to have won the title twice. Previously, the Warriors carved their name on the trophy in the 2018 edition of the tournament. Winning the title in the previous edition, Nicholas Pooran walked the same path as that of Warrior’s previous captain Darren Sammy in winning the tournament in their first experience of leading a franchise.

The emergence of the Abu Dhabi T10 League

This will be the 5th season of the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The previous editions were successful in fetching a lot of audiences to watch the action-packed games. The winners of the first edition of the game were Kerala knights whereas Maratha Arabians secured the title in the third season. The reigning champions Northern Warriors are the most successful team of the tournament so far.

Sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Abu Dhabi T10 league is so far the world’s only ten over cricket tournament. The league is been played in the round-robin format with eight teams participating in it. Then followed by the eliminators and finals, this frenetic format did grab many eyes over the course of time. including the final fixture, the eight teams play a total of 29 matches against each other.

Cricket has witnessed huge evolution with the introduction of shorter formats. These quick and belligerent games that are produced in the T10 league enthrall the fans with their action. There is a lot of anticipation and drama when the players take on the field.
