We are in the latter half of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021-22 and, teams eyeing a place in the qualifying stage should buckle up. A couple of games were on display on Thursday (November 25), and the proceedings were entirely different. While Bangla Tigers thrashed Deccan Gladiators by nine wickets, Delhi Bulls defeated Northern Warriors by eight wickets in a nail-biting encounter.

Speaking of how the first game of the day panned out, Faf Du Plessis’ Bangla Tigers completed another comprehensive win when they defeated Deccan Gladiators by 9 wickets in the Abu Dhabi T10. Just like in the match against The Chennai Braves, Will Jacks and Hazratullah Zazai made good of a strong foundation provided by Johnson Charles’ big hitting at the top of the order.

Hazratullah Zazai powers Bangla Tigers to emphatic win

Courtesy of Zazai’s unbeaten 26-ball-59, the Tigers took only 8.1 overs to overhaul the target of 112. Their third win took them to the third spot on the points table, where they find themselves sandwiched between Deccan Gladiators and Delhi Bulls, both teams with three wins in their bag.

As far as the other game is concerned, the affair was more intense. Skipper Rovman Powell put up a batting exhibition and slammed a quick-fire half-century. Ross Whiteley and Umair Ali also chipped in with crucial cameos as Northern Warriors posted 128/6 while batting first. While the target was daunting, Delhi Bulls embraced the challenge with brilliance.

Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Luke Wright continued their sensational run and added 116 runs for the first wicket. Gurbaz was the chief contributor, slamming a 32-ball 70. Just when Bulls’ victory looked a mere formality, three wickets fell in quick intervals and the contest was spiced up. However, a timely six from Eoin Morgan helped the side cross the line in the penultimate delivery. This win powered Bulls to the second position with four victories in six outings.
