After four days of action-packed and high-octane run fests, the Abu Dhabi T10 League entered into the Super League phase of the tournament with the Pune Devils taking on the Bangla Tigers.  After being put to bat, Tom Kohler-Cadmore continued with his spectacular form, whacking three sixes and four boundaries in his 48-run knock from just 25. He got some able assistance from Alex Davies, who scored a 21-ball 41 to guide the Devils to 115/3.

In response, a couple of cameos from Andre Fletcher and Chirag Suri, who both got 30 from 15, before some serious hitting from Tom Moores, who raced off to 38 from merely 12, including four sixes, meant that the Bangla Tigers chased the target with 8 wickets in hands.

The second clash of the day between Team Abu Dhabi and Northern Warriors witnessed another poor show from Chris Gayle after the Warriors had inserted them to bat. Wahab Riaz struck on the opening ball of the game to dismiss Paul Stirling before Gayle fell for his third consecutive single-digit score. A 24-ball half-century from Joe Clarke alongside some handy blows from Luke Wright and Ben Duckett led Team Abu Dhabi to 123/3.

The Northern Warriors sailed through the chase on the back of a sensational 34-ball 76 from Waseem Muhammad and a 25-ball 37 from Lendl Simmons. Their 121-run opening stand almost took the Warriors home, although, despite being in control for their entire innings, the double strike of Jamie Overton in the final over gave them a last-moment hiccup. The situation eventually came down to 2 needed from the last delivery, which Rovmann Powell managed courtesy of a fumble by the fielder at midwicket.

The final fixture between the Deccan Gladiators and Delhi Bulls witnessed some vintage show from the Caribbean hunk Kieron Pollard. A couple of wickets each to Amad Butt and Ali Khan, apart from one apiece to Dwayne Bravo and Fidel Edwards meant that the Gladiators kept losing wickets in almost every over of their innings. Although, Pollard’s 18-ball 48 blitz with four sixes and as many fours alongside a 22-run cameo from Azam Khan took the Gladiators to 118/7.

During the chase, openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Evin Lewis came out all guns blazing as they added 90 runs in merely 4.5 overs, which is when Imran Tahir struck to remove Lewis, who teed off to 35 from 14, featuring 4 sixes in his knock. Gurbaz, who nailed 7 fours and a couple of sixes in his 20-ball stay, fell only 3 short of his half-century. However, Sherfane Rutherford (28 from 13) ensured that the Bulls finished the chase with as many as 11 balls to spare.
