After five successful editions, the Abu Dhabi T10 League is all set to return for the sixth season of the tournament, which will be played from 23rd November to 4th December. Ahead of the same, Bangla Tigers have announced their retentions on Wednesday, August 24.

The Tigers, who are yet to win the title, have retained Matheesha Pathirana and Mohammad Amir for the upcoming season, whole they have also signed Evin Lewis and Colin Munro, the two powerful left-handers, into their side. While Lewis has been signed as a Platinum player, Munro is a part of Category A.

A mix of young and experienced players for Bangla Tigers

Pathirana rose to the limelight when he represented Sri Lanka in the U-19 World Cup. The then 17-year-old is said to have clocked a delivery at 175 kmph, which is technically the fastest to date, but it was later found that the same occurred due to a speed gun error. Nevertheless, the 19-year-old young pacer is popularly called Junior Malinga for his bowling action and techniques.

Mohammad Amir, on the other hand, is much more experienced as compared to Pathirana. Having made his debut in 2009, the 30-year-old was banned for five years in 2010 by the ICC. But he has had a prolific cricketing career. Though he has been missing from the international setup for quite some time, he is regularly seen playing the league-based tournaments for Pakistan and also was a part of the T20 Blast this season.

Evin Lewis, who was previously a part of the Delhi Bulls, will now be seen in the Bangla Tigers colours. The left-handed Trinidadian has also been a part of the Karnataka Tuskers and Punjabi Legends in the previous editions, and the upcoming season will be his fourth overall. On the other hand, the 35-year-old Munro, who previously represented Team Abu Dhabi, will now join the Tigers.
