Abu Dhabi T10 League Winners List & Runners List Over The Years

Riding on a sensational cameo from Andre Russell, Deccan Gladiators thrashed Delhi Bulls by 56 runs in the finals to lift the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 title. In the recently concluded season, the Gladiators managed to defend their title and this time it was the skipper Nicholas Pooran and David Wiese who starred in final. It was an indeed an emphatic triumph from the Gladiators as they were dominant throughout the competition. While they qualified as the fourth best team for the playoffs, the team played their best cricket when it mattered the most.

Speaking of how the summit clash panned out, the Gladiators posted 128 runs for the loss of four wickets in 10 overs after being invited to bat first. After losing their top three early, Pooran and Wiese batted brilliantly to score 40 and 43 runs respectively and propelled the team's score to 128.

In response, the Strikers were left reeling at 29/4 in less than four overs. Jordan Thompson and skipper Kieron Pollard then revived the innings to some extent but they couldn't stage a comeback. Their knocks of 22 and 23 respectively only delayed the inevitable as the Gladiators managed to win the game by 37 runs.

Speaking of the previous editions of the competitions, the now-defunct Kerala Kings won the inaugural edition in 2017 by defeating another now-defunct side Punjabi Legends by eight wickets in the summit clash. The following season saw Northern Warriors getting the glory. Maratha Arabians, another terminated side, lifted the title in the 2019 season.

The previous edition of the competition, which happened in 2020, witnessed Northern Warriors becoming the first side to lift the Abu Dhabi T10 League title twice. Hence, the Warriors even entered the competition as reigning champions but couldn’t reclaim their throne and got knocked out in the league stage. Meanwhile, Deccan Gladiators are the latest entrants in the elite list.
