Match Details:

The Group A match of the ACC Under-19s Asia Cup 2019 will be played between Afghanistan Under-19s and Kuwait Under-19s at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The match starts at 9:30 AM local time (4:00 AM GMT) (9:30 AM IST).

Preview:

Afghanistan Under-19s kick-started their campaign in style by defeating Pakistan Under-19s. They were limited to 162/9 with the bat in the restricted 46 overs. However, they came out to produce brilliance with the ball by bundling them out for just 78. This is the 3rd time in as many games since 2017 that Afghanistan have bowled out Pakistan Under-19s under 100 in Youth Asia Cup.

They will now face Kuwait in their 2nd match and a win here could well hand them a spot in the semi-finals from the Group A. They are part of the group involving India and Pakistan which is considered as the Group of death. Kuwait, on the other hand, made a reasonable start to the tournament. In the restricted 23 overs, they posted 110/7 and made India Under-19s sweat up to 19.1 overs for a win.

Weather Condition/Report:

Compared to the first two days, much better weather is expected in Colombo on Saturday. Though there will be a delayed start like in the first four matches, this game is unlikely to be interrupted by rains once it gets started.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The RPS Stadium in Colombo saw a low scoring game between Sri Lanka and Nepal on Friday. The recent results in Youth ODIs at this venue expected a similar match with spinners of both teams having a say. Same is expected for the game on Saturday between Afghans and Kuwait.

Average first innings score: 211 (Youth ODI matches since 2016)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 3
